The Homeless Family Center has been providing services for the homeless since 1991. For the past twenty-one years, over 2391 individuals have been served including 511 families, 1350 adults and 1041 children.
The Homeless Family Center provides the tools to empower residents by helping them to identify and resolve their problems, find better jobs, and ultimately move into homes where they can become contributing members of our community. Our environment is structured for success. Each resident must participate in household chores and follow reasonable curfews, which are enforced to promote structure and routine for families.
Our job training and assistance helps residents obtain the best employment possible. Adults are required to hold jobs, attend educational classes and / or provide community service a minimum of 40 hours per week. Adults are required to have a savings goal of 75% of their total earnings so they can ultimately move into a home of their own.
Residents are required to participate in educational classes on site Monday – Thursday. Classes are provided in the areas of life skills, budgeting, nutrition, time management, parenting, self-esteem, character values and tutorial support.
The Homeless Family Center is a drug and alcohol free facility. We enforce a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. Our residents agree to submit to daily alcohol testing and random drug testing as requested.
